This presentation is offered to IDEA Public School employees and parents/caregivers/relatives and students (age appropriate) on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
The program will cover human trafficking basics including the definition, rationale for trafficking, and prevalence in Texas. It will emphasize that human trafficking is a "hidden gorilla" in plain sight and will discuss red flags that raise awareness of potential victims in patient populations. The role social media plays in human trafficking will be discussed as well as myths versus misconceptions.
Measures to assist eradicating human trafficking, including education and awareness of The National Human Trafficking Hotline number and additional resources, will be emphasized.
